Rated 2 out of 5 by ckck from Was the perfect fit, while it worked... Picked this one up and it had the features I looked for (large top opening, comfortable and protected handle, stainless inside chamber. Served us well for about 6 months. Now when we press the boil button, it just flashes and does not boil the water. I know it's petty, but our last kettle lasted ~10+ years. Buy it. Forget it. So it was silly of us not to keep warranty / receipt info, but we were just going under the impression the mechanics should outlast the container. Anyway, I've done little to try to return it (brief search on the website for non-registered product warranty returns) so I can't comment on Oster's support. Just disappointed this one didn't last the year.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Horrible Kettle, DO NOT BUY I bought this kettle yesterday and have had to return it already. I noticed a "hot glue"-ish smell to it and proceeded to wash it according to the instructions in the user manual, twice... It still smelled. I then tried to boil water in it many times in hopes of the smell going away, but it remains. The construction of it seems very cheap, the base is made of very light plastic, and the button on the kettle feel fragile. This is a very bad kettle, please do not buy it. Also, Oster has many complaints about their equipment catching fire, and this is not a risk I am willing to take.

Rated 1 out of 5 by reb_dav from Oster 1.7L Variable Temp Kettle just quit working. The Oster 1.7L Variable Temp Kettle just quit today without any warning. I see others have had the same problem. Pretty sad when a product simply is not reliable. Now I have to go out and buy another one. It won't be an Oster product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by HollyAin2004 from Won't boil, temp won't adjust, didn't last long! So frustrated I spent the money on this, loving the features and expecting it to last at least a few months, and it has not!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dooger from Great so far Reading other reviews, I am concerned what will happen now that we've had it 6 months. I hope ours will last, because it works well so far (bought this model in January 2016). Very happy with simple operation and speed. Wonder why there's no easy way to switch degree display to C from F degrees, and odd that something would sell in Canada without C degree option.

Rated 1 out of 5 by frustrated senior from Don't waste your money. Received my first as a gift for Mother's Day, it last a year and a half. Purchased the next the week before Christmas 2015 and it just died as well. I won't be replacing it with another even if it is black Friday and its cheaper than we paid.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JulieM from Piece of c.....p won’t honor one year warranty Bought this kettle last september, stop working in december. Eventhough warranty suppose to be for one year, customer service advised me that they can not do anything since it was built in 2014!!! can’t see anywhere in their warranty manuel that it is from date of manufacturing which is nowhere to be found for any consumer. Total c...... warranty from Oyster
