Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sad farewell, joyful reunion Well, I have had and heavily used the 12-speed Oster blender for years--same look, classy brushed nickel. Well, today, I over burdened my favorite kitchen utensil making a rather thick pesto--had the pitcher practically full...the started smelling something other than the aromatic delight of basil, garlic and olive oil being blended--yes, it was the motor smoking from being bogged down. When my old buddy burned out and gave up the ghost, I was totally bummed to bid a sad farewell. I mean, I use this all the time, my go to appliance. On a whim, I Googled Oster, and lo and behold, they still make the exact blender, same retro look, same Oster dependability, and I can even interchange the old accessories if necessary down the road. Not to mention there just happened to be a 30% discount and so I got it at an amazing price. You can't beat Oster--sheik metal base, glass pitcher, blender blades you could shave with (watch your fingers when cleaning), oh and did I mention 30% discount! So, while I bid a sad farewell to my old friend, I await a joyous reunion with it's exact twin! (I just ordered the replacement) I'm much relieved and only hope the new one is up to the same Oster standards as the old one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Jar doesn’t fit in the base I just bought this blender, wasn’t too expensive. I agree with other reviewers that it’s insanely loud but my biggest issue was the jar didn’t fit securely in the base. It’s wobbly and with the slightest nudge it’s dislodges. The “lock” pieces don’t seems to properly line up on the sides either and turning it to line them up causes the jar to unscrew from the cap. Very disappointed with this purchase and will likely return the product. Very poorly constructed

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product not as shown This blender is supposed to be brushed nickel, as the description specifies. It is actually a shiny polished metal. It does not match my existing appliances. I sent it back and am still waiting for a refund. I lost money on this purchase because I had to pay shipping twice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not impressed at all I had bought this blender 2-3 year ago, and was using only blend mode as did not need any other mode. It was loud but was getting the job done. Now I wanted to try this for smoothies and realized that none of the other buttons work. And now the one year warranty is up, I cannot take it back to the retailer. It is useless and now am on the market for another blender that is a good one.

What happened this used to be a good brand had one for over20 years ?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Motor works fine, but worst blade experience I bought above blender twice, the motor and jar works fine, but have lots of problem with blade, after a month or two, blade gets hole in bottom and liquid start coming out. I bought two extra blades , but no luck. Wasted lots of money, time..
