Motor Keeps on Going
I originally bought this blender over 12 years ago to make protein drinks for my mother who was ill. Now, with 12 more years of margarita parties behind it, it is still going strong. I have spent so much money over the years replacing "other" blenders because of burnt out motors. That never happens when I buy Oster. And I have never needed 12 or 14 speeds. The two speeds are just perfect for me.

Simple and powerful
We'd had many blenders over the years, but despite having lots of speeds, they lacked power. This one was recommended by my wife's sister, and we think it's great: plenty of power, and relatively quiet.

AWESOME PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have had mine for 15+ years. Works beautifully today. The blade has never needed sharpening and the glass container is dishwasher safe and shatter proof. I love it and it's 15 plus years old going strong today.

Have loved it for 7 years
I blend green smoothies every morning, so my blender must liquidize kale, seeds, frozen fruit, etc. I have had this blender for 7 years and it is still going strong - only the seal (ring) is now in need of replacement - love it!

Excellent value! Outstanding blender!
I had an old Osterizer that I gave away many years ago and have regretted it ever since. I've tried all the high-end blenders (Vitamix, BlendTec, etc.), but this is honestly just as good, much easier to operate, and does pretty much the same things except make hot soup (which I never did in the other ones anyway). This blender is so simple and straightforward but powerful and adaptable. If you're able to get your hands on the mini blend jars to go with it, you'll be even more delighted. I love the glass blending jar, the removable blade and gasket, the power of this blender, and its beautiful appearance (it even fits under my cabinets). I'll never give away my Osterizer again!

We got an oster beehive blender in 1962 as a wedding present. It still works fine though I have run through several jars and many rings.

Beehive - Great Value Blender!
Nice solid base, and easily portable (up to countertop/down to storage cupboard) using the ring on top as a handle. Excellent glass jug with good lid, better than the old design. Makes a good smoothie, as long as you accept that berry skins will not get 100% obliterated. For most basic blending the Beehive will do the job nicely - you will have to chop ingredients into appropriate size chunks and load it properly. Compared to the top end Vitamix / Blendtec blenders this one is still surprisingly loud, maybe a few DB less. But those ones are not easily portable and cost 10-15x more... for the price the Beehive is attractive, and gets 90% of jobs done. If you however are grinding meat, making nut butters, need fluffy ice for drinks, or just demand absolute decimation of your toughest smoothie ingredients the you would have to spend a lot more

Excellent versitile blender
Classic good looks you can leave out on the counter - important if you use it daily as I do. Very powerful and easy to clean. Simple 2-speed motor. Flip the switch up for it to stay on high. Press it down for medium speed "pulse" (meaning the switch doesn't stay on). It looks a lot like my mom's 1960s Osterizer, which still works just fine. I really wanted to give this blender 5 stars but it is so terribly loud and the cord is too short (only about 2 ft). A little more noise dampening in the base would have it sturdier and quieter.
