Rated 4 out of 5 by HollyP from Sleek, Stylish Kettle This is a sleek, stylish kettle. It looks great on my counter top among my other stainless steel appliances. This kettle is cordless, once removed from the base. Therefore, I can put the kettle on the table. As others state, it is a bit loud when heating/boiling, but I believe that is due to the rapid heating. The water boils very quickly! However, be careful when near the sides of the kettle. Due to the stainless steel construction, the sides are extremely hot! This can be explained as the walls of the kettle are not insulated. My previous kettle was plastic, and therefore did not conduct the heat like the steel does. Overall, I would highly recommend this product!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Chrissy from Beautiful, But Hot To The Touch This kettle is absolutely beautiful. You really don't mind adding it to your collection of countertop appliances! It has a retro style, but with a modern stainless steal finish, very nice. My hot water boiled from start to finish in exactly 5 minutes. My only complaint, and it's not a small one, is that the sides of the kettle become burning hot to the touch after the water is finished boiling. Most electric kettles I've owned are usually warm to hot, but this one would definitely burn your hand if you accidentally touched any part other than the handle. Not sure if that's normal, as my previous kettle was quite old, but it did take me by surprise and has me concerned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sfoster from Sleek but loud I recently got this kettle and must say I love the sleek look and design of the Kettle. It has a professional polished look and I don't mind keeping it on the counter at all times unlike my old kettle. I love how quickly it boils plenty of water in rapid time however I do find it to be rather loud. It sounds quite like a freight train when boiling the water. I didn't like that the kettle does not actually shut off once it comes to a rolling boil, the kettle continues to be on. I just know the kettle is ready when the sound of the train is over. Overall the kettle's design is great and I can have tea in less than a minute which is great when I have small children to chase after.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kjones from Great but Loud I have had this kettle for a little over a week now. It looks great out on the countertop next to all my stainless steel appliances, however it can be very loud when boiling which makes it hard to carry on a conversation with friends when you're making Tea. It boils very quick which is nice and actually keeps the water fairly warm inside if you forget for a while you can still pour a nice cup of coffee after letting it sit it becomes a nice instant drinking temperature. Just be a bit careful when handling right after boiling as the stainless steel gets quite hot. All in all a good kettle

Rated 5 out of 5 by Djm67 from Stylish and Functional I've been using this kettle for a few weeks now. It looks great on the counter next to other stainless steel appliances and there are a few things I like about it: It's cordless, so I can pick it up and pour it into my French press without having to u plug it. I like the red light that comes on to let you know it's working right away. It also heats the water up fast! Much faster than other kettles I've used it seems. I also like the pour spout, no chance of dribbling hot water everywhere. No issues with it, I recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Adesro from Amazing kettle! This sleek kettle looks so great sitting on my counter and boils the max capacity (1.7L) from cold water in about 6.5 minutes which is pretty average. If you were boiling 1-2 cups it would probably be about 2 minutes. All kettles make noise. This one is just a bit louder during the initial heating process. The light that turns on when you switch the kettle on illuminates the entire side panel so you can see how much water is inside even in the dark. The lid is wide so you can fit your hand inside to wash it which is a BIG bonus as many electric kettles have small lids so they can't get a proper wash. The cord is a good length and the base offers some cord storage so you can wrap the cord underneath if you don't want excess cord all over the counter. Overall great kettle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jhann from Great kettle I recently received this stainless steel kettle and I am really enjoying it so far. The stainless looks good on my counter and is very easy to clean. It was a little louder than expected when boiling but nothing extreme and it shuts off once the boiling point has been met. Even the on off switch has a good look and feel to it, large enough for easy operation. The only short coming is the length of the cord, it could be slightly longer. All in all, am very happy with the Oster stainless steel kettle!

Rated 4 out of 5 by smcl from Good quality, but loud It seems like it is made well and it will last, but it is much louder than I expected. It is loud enough to make it difficult to talk or listen to TV. Luckily it boils water fast so it's not really a problem.
