Rated 5 out of 5 by from G RANGE OF GRIND SETTINGS I have had a different model of Oster Burr Grinder for almost 10 years. Originally I had to get it replaced about 2 months after purchasing it which wasn't a problem - - I have ground many many pounds of coffee beans as we are big coffee drinkers and only buy beans. I like the versatility of this one because of the settings and larger hopper. Works just fine. For the person that wrote the first review --- mauybe go return it and get a replacement and use it for a few months before writing a negative review that would mislead others from buying a good grinder. After all all appliances are subject to defects always have been and always will be - - - doesn't mean they aren't any good - - - Oh yea - - the original one still works great, this one was a gift.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked well until it didn't... This machine works as advertised but it not a good long-term investment. I have used it with no problems for about two years and have been happy with it. Now, the grinder stops at random, sometimes after a 1-2 seconds, sometimes after 10-15 seconds, probably because the motor is worn out. I will purchase a replacement of better quality and would recommend others do the same.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mediocre grinder that stopped working Grind quality was poor to begin with, but completely stopped working after only a few months. I purchased the grinder primarily to use for French press. I found that even on the coarsest setting I had a thick sludge every time I drank my coffee. While I understand that some sediment is typical, the amount using this grinder is ridiculous. I've since started using another brand and the grind is more consistent and my coffee is more enjoyable. After about 3 months of use, the grinder stopped working altogether. I would run for 1 second before shutting off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy. The base of the machine will siphon off grinds and fill to the point it won't work anymore.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not grinding correctly for espresso coffee Just out of the box and not grinding correctly for espresso coffee . The beans are coarse and can be only used for percolators. The coffee beans used for the first trial were not oily as recommended. Didn't work at all..!!! Tried other type of coffee beans.. no improvment ! I am greatly disapointed ! This was a Xmast gift to my goddaugther I have chosen that grinder for 3 reasons: the performance, i had heard was good, the type of grinder, the look and the size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reliable daily use for years! I am writing because I saw the reviews about the motor dying. Perhaps the manufacturing is different now but we bought our Oster burr grinder years ago and it has seen daily use - and often twice a day. We have a French press and a drip coffee maker so we have tried multiple grind settings. It is fairly loud but they all are. The hopper holds quite a lot of beans. Occasionally it starts to whine rather than grind and that means it is time to clean out the buildup in the hole, then it’s back to normal. Happens more frequently with the oilier beans but they’re worth it. We have been very happy with ours.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked great when it worked Purchased in October and failed in January, loved the grinder when it worked as I had used just a small electric 1 for years this made the job easier for sure and now it won't work press the button and runs for second or some times 2 before it shuts off, purchased at Canadian Tire and have read on there site I can bring back for replacement within 1 year of purchase so guess that is what I will do

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No stars I bought this for my boyfriend to replace his small coffee grinder to save time and mess. It constantly jams up must be cleaned daily and now 6 months after purchase has stopped working. It still puts grounds all over the counter when you open it so no mess is reduced. The value simply isn’t there.
