Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Features But Not Designed to LAst After a month or two it began leaking during brewing and pouring. Also ours very slowly but I'm willing to put up with this for the insulation in the caraffe which keeps coffee hot for HOURS! Also the water storage unti is finnicky and it won't brew if not pushed on just right - otherwise unit just beeps repeatedly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Drip Maker! I got this coffee maker a couple months ago and was initially very disappointed because my maker wouldn't work. I contacted Oster's customer service and they were very pleasant and quickly replaced my unit. It was some of the best support I've ever encountered! (Thanks Oster!) The new unit worked perfectly and brewed faster than any other drip maker I've ever used. The carafe kept my coffee hot for hours without burning it. I used the maker while hosting over Christmas and there were a lot of compliments about the flavor. The only downside was that the carafe was a little slow to pour, but if my biggest complaint is an extra 5 seconds to fill a mug, I'd say this coffee maker deserves 5 stars.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible No matter how carefully I measure the coffee, how little water I put in, how perfectly placed the carafe is in the receptacle, this HORRIBLE coffee maker spews hot coffee all over my counter EVERY morning. Don't buy this product. I stupidly ignored similar reviews on the Oster website because some customer service bot had added "call us". I won't make that mistake again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great taste, but definitely some hold ups Bought this as a gift for my spouse, who is a coffee brainiac. Have not had any of these overflow issues. Coffee brews in a timely manner. The only thing I do not like about this product is how long it takes to pour a cup. I have to sit there and hold the pot for 45 seconds to pour a cup of coffee. Not sure if this is a design flaw or if my pot has a manufacturing error, but holding 12 cups of coffee for 45 seconds to pour single cup is surely a nuisance. I have resorted to taking the lid off. PS this is not build up, it is brand new.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst coffee maker I’ve ever owned We bought this coffee maker a few months ago, and almost immediately the carafe started leaking. We contacted Oster for a replacement, and after a not-so-smooth transaction, it was replaced. Soon after we received the replacement, the carafe started leaking again, and was also leaking during the brewing cycle. I’ve tried to communicate with Oster, and they wanted to give us another model that was $70 cheaper! I tried to ask for a manager to call me, but they have just ignored my request. I will never again buy an Oster product!!

I bought this coffee pot 4 months ago and it makes great tasting coffee, I love having a carafe. about 2 months after I bought it, it started making a grinding noise all the time, even when not brewing so i started unplugging after coffee was made. NOW I am lucky to get it to brew coffee at all. I turn it on, nothing, I take water holder out, put back in. turn it back on, nothing. I have to play around with it up to 10 mins before it will finally turn on, I just know that soon it won't turn on at all. I had such high hopes for this coffee pot and I am so disappointed

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tasting coffee and easy to use I love this carafe, the coffee is brewed quickly, it's very easy to use and the temperature is great. I used to use a french press until I got this product. Unlike other coffee pots, the thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot without it tasting bitter and burnt. Even after the coffee has been sitting for a 3 or 4 hours, it still comes out hot and tasting fresh. Like other reviewers, I agree the carafe is hard to pour, only because it's heavy and the spout is small so it is difficult to pour a full pot because of the weight. In spite of that minor thing, this is hands down one of the best coffee makers I've owned. It looks great with my other stainless steel appliances, I have no regrets with owning this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick and hot coffee! I received this coffee maker 2 weeks ago and I must say I really like it. First of all, the machine is pretty and is very simple to use. I like that the water container is detachable so it is easy to fill without spilling water. The machines brews coffee really fast and it is really hot when ready. Gotta love it. On the downside, I feel that it is a little big and the little plastic sticks in the carafe (used to know how much coffee is remaining in it) seem frails. Other than that, I would recommend this machine to anyone. Great value !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even better than the original model Had the original and yes the display went dim over time. Yes I had some operator errors causing coffee to flood counter but found the lever was pushed up by myself when cleaning. The seal on the old carafe broke apart after years. But the new version is even better and with the new features I just had best cup of hot full brewed coffee. I find most of the complaints on here related to operator error or redundant whining. If you like being able to utilize the removable parts, and enjoy a good cup of hot coffee in a machine around a 100$ buy it. If not don't. As for quality, if not satisfied go waste a few hundred on some lesser quality hipster brand and move on. Lol...I love this unit. Last one lasted 5 years. Looking forward to another 5yrs or longer with my replacement. Cheers

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product! This coffee maker is great! It's very modern and uses a lot of different technology to brew your perfect coffee. I love that it has a timer so you can set it to brew when you wake up. I think it'd be nicer if it were clear though because you can see all the dirt/grime when trying to clean, but that's just my opinion. It has some good efficient features that your typical coffee maker wouldn't! The only problem I had with it was that the lights inside the pot wouldn't light up as they should. Other than that, I'd recommend this to anyone!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good cup of coffee We purchased this model after much research. We wanted a thermal caffe because we don't like cooked coffee. We didn't order the gold filter from oster, our error, but bought one locally. Here's what we found: the coffee grounds must be medium ground, it helps to also have a paper filter. We found otherwise the coffee grounds overflowed. So double bag the filters, and no more mess.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cannot find replacement part I need to replace the Water Reservoir which cracked when taken our for filling and possibly was held too tightly. I cannot find parts for this model anywhere on-line. Please help. I purchased this coffee maker on-line in October 2018 and I am very satisfied with the coffee brewed and the carafe which keeps coffee warm and tasting great for over 2 hours. Don't like the light tubes which quickly stain with coffee and become useless. I would prefer NOT to have this feature as it makes the lid more difficult to wash and re-install.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good coffee, good customer service I ordered this coffee maker in November and was really looking forward to it. However, it did not work. Carafe had to literally be slammed into place several times before it would come on. I called customer service and they sent a replacement immediately and did not want the defective one back. The replacement is working perfectly and the coffe is delicious. It's extremely hot and the carafe keeps it hot for a long period of time. Very happy with it and thankful for the quick and satisfactory response from the customer care centre.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible coffee I purchased this two months ago, and the coffee it made was awful. I've run cleaning cycles. I've tried more coffee/less coffee/different grinds, and it's consistently awful. I've never had an experience like this before with any coffee maker. I called the store, and they offered to exchange - for the same model only. I did this, and the new one is as bad as the first. I went and bought a new maker last weekend, different brand, and once again have good coffee. Meanwhile, I still have a pretty-much new, expensive coffee maker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tasting Coffee but with struggles. I have been using the coffee maker for a week. I do taste the difference the blooming technology makes. The coffee tastes much more smoother than brewed with a classic brewer. There are times when I do have the machine beeping telling me that there is something that isn't within the proportion the machine likes. You can not make the coffee with more water; less coffee taste or even use it to water boiler. Sometimes I want coffee that is not as strong as the machine is requiring, but have no choice for this brewer.

I've tried contacting Oster Customer Support, it has been over a week now I have not received a response. I would just like a replacement coffee pot. One that doesn't leak.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from defective product I bought one a month ago and the coffee pot leaked out the seam on the front making a mess when you poured. I exchanged it and they were very good about that. The second unit leaked out the base and created pools of coffee on my counter. I did not overfill it or overfill the basket with coffee grounds. I exchanged it and the third one would not allow me to set the clock. The clock was unresponsive and continued to flash no matter what I did. At that point I gave up. They were good about refunding my purchase.

Without a doubt the best coffee I've had ever from any drip machine. Very fast brew cycle and the Thermal carafe is both elegant in looks, and functional. Keeps coffee hot for 4 hours. Great machine and quiet too!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great coffee This machine makes a great pot of coffee but now that I’ve owned two of them they both have had the same issues. The water fills the filter basket faster than the coffee can drain into pot and causes the coffee grounds to overflow and block the drain and then all your coffee comes out the side of machine. I’ve had to remove the auto stop plunger from both machines filter baskets to prevent this from happening. (I’ve asked oster we will see if they can address this issue). Otherwise I love the coffee maker!

I don't understand why some people wrote about some problems with the filter or that it's very long to get the coffe ready ?!? I'm using paper filter and there's no problems, Coffee is good and it's very fast to make it. The stainless keep your coffee good for 2 hours. So I just cross my fingers because I don't want to have a problem with the electronic board like my Sunbeam who stop after one year and they don't want to sell me the part.

Our past two coffee makers, as did the Oster Optimal Brew, brewed coffee at higher temperatures than typical economy models and we believe this makes for better tasting coffee. This Oster coffee maker has not disappointed us but something different, better tasting coffee, is evident in each cup we drink. Oster claims it uses Blooming Technology. Well if this is the difference...it works! Oster, when the time comes for us to make another coffee brewer purchase, you just raised the bar.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointing first use!! I bought this coffee pot to replace my much loved Cuisinart that was fully functional for over 10 years. Very disappointed after following the instructions, delayed start didn’t function. Further - the pour was terribly slow, more of a messy dribble. We ended up unscrewing the lid to get a decent pour...letting much of the heat escape! Unsure if the coffee maker I got off the shelf was a dud or if the model has systemic issues. Looks great and coffee (eventually) tastes great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use, makes a great cup of coffee We bought this about a month ago. We had a 10-cup brewer that worked well and is now was destined for our cottage. We find this an improvement over the first machine - we find we must heat the pot with hot water before brewing but with that, the coffee stays hot for two hours. The coffee brews at the right temperature, consistently. We are very pleased with this coffee maker and certainly recommend it. Watch for sales, you can get an even better value then.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hottest thermal brewer After buying a number of thermal coffee makers trying to find one that could brew and keep coffee hot - the Oster Optimal is the best hands down! We have had our coffee maker for three years and brew a full pot daily. The coffee brews steaming hot and stays hot. A minor tweak to slow the brewing is needed as grounds periodically over spill but grounds can be shaped in a cone to manage that. Glad to have hot coffee to get through long days of working from home.

I must say I do enjoy the ability to program the time to brew as I had it ready every morning when I gor up for work. I find the machine itself seems quite larger than it has to be as it still requires filling each brew. I also found that pouring it took a very long time as the stream was very small and the pot was very heavy. Overall it is a nice machine but could use some changes for easier use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Was constantly difficult to use We've had this product for 2 years and it's had the same issue as one we sent back to get a replacement for. Intermittently (like several times per week) it beeps when set up and cannot be turned on. We've had to push down forcefully on the water reservoir to get it to work. Finally, the plastic piece over the top of the water reservoir broke and cannot be reordered (of course). This has been the most frustrating coffee machine I've ever owned.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Clean light forever on My husband bought this coffee make for me less than a year ago. It's been great until about a week ago. The clean light is permanently stuck on. I have cleaned it thoroughly multiple times thinking that it was almost like a notification light. Not the case :( Coffee doesn't seem to brew to the same strength anymore and the light is annoying to see everyday now... I didn't think a machine that seemed so well made would kick the bucket so fast.
