Rated 3 out of 5 by Walt from Stopped working after 8 months. Bought this unit because my previous one (different company) died after less than 12 months. I spent a little more this ttime and knowing the Oster brand figured I would get years of service. Well lo and behold it too stopped brewing 8 months in. What is it coffee makers lately? My previous ones lasted for years (5 at least). Apart from that issue I think the unit is wonderful. It does what it has to day-in day-out. Making coffee in not rocket science. I now have to find a service depot and dig up the OTHER replacement unit I got stored because it took a month before the replacement unit came. Had to have my coffee. :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Karen from My second one and we love it! We love our coffee maker so much that after 2 solid years of use we bought one for our fifth wheel trailer. We have tried many brands over the years, but this one has by far made the best tasting coffee. Not sure about others plastic taste comments. It actually has a clean function I use about every 3 months and maybe they are not using it?? The clean function is much more than just pouring vinegar in the water reservoir, so maybe they never read the instructions when they got it. I have actually had people ask me where I got my coffee at dinner parties, and it could be the coffee itself I choose, but I think it's the Oster too!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Squeakypig from A repair note There's a circuit board inside and, it can be repaired. If the clock goes out and, the thing won't brew then, a check of the circuit board may reveal that a 24 Volt Zener diode has failed. The replacement is a 1N4749A. Also, an electrolytic capacitor may be damaged as well. The one I fixed was swollen and so, no good anymore. Replace it with a 220 uF capacitor rated at 50V, not the 35V original and, select one with a higher temperature rated for 105 deg C. The fix isn't hard. A soldering iron, some solder wick and, a Philips #2 screwdriver is all you'll need. The circuit board is in the base and contained in a little plastic box screwed down to a couple of small posts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Edward from Good features but VERY POOR Reliability I liked the unit very much, but it failed after ~14 months. I then bought the same unit again and it stopped working shortly after the one year warranty was finished. I called the manufacturer to complain, and after speaking to many company representatives, they finally sent me a free replacement unit which I received on September 9, 2014. This unit has also failed after only 11 months with only one use per day! The Oster website indicates - "Legendary Performance, Designed to Last", but it fails to mention that these units only last until the Warranty expires!

Rated 1 out of 5 by L Hart from Very disappointed We purchased this coffee maker not thinking that there would be issues with ... The machine smells horrible like burnt plastic and it makes the coffee taste that way as well and the grounds always spill over into the pot. We have tried to clean it with vinegar and used different filters. It also does not make 12 cups of coffee. This is very disappointing to say the least. We will be returning this machine to the store of purchase and will not be buying any other Oster coffee machine

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from 2nd one that failed What can I say? It sucks. But I have to say is probably the least suckiest one I've had in the last 3 years. This is my second oster in 2 1/2 years that have failed but before I went with oster I went through 3 other coffee makers in 2 years. So if you want a coffee maker that sucks just a little bit less than go with this one. You'll probably get a little over a year out of it before it craps out on you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by agree with L Hart from Also disappointed I agree with L Hart. This coffee maker does not make 12 cups of coffee, the coffee does smell like burnt plastic, cleaning it does nothing and the carafe broke after leaving it to rest at warm temperature and then rinsing it with warm water. Given the fact that you can't by an extra carafe on-line and add it to your cart makes it an easy decision to never buy an Oster product again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Stormy from clock display Is the clock on the front supposed to be illuminated ie bright blue ? Mine does not and is very hard to see if there is a shadow on it. Also if the coffee pot is not positioned on the element in an exact spot when brewing it leaks coffee all over. The coffee when draining into the pot spurts out in 4 streams??? Very frustrating.
